Finally an update
Remember when I posted my last 2015 post about Life Resolutions? I talked about my Life Resolutions with the top 4 being:
- Family first
- Live healthy & creatively
- Destash and build a home
- Explore the world
Well we are now two months into 2016 and I finally got some time to give you all an update.
I have not been able to blog or share much as the last two months contained me being sick or/and taking care of sick family members. Not sure if you have heard but we had have a bad case of the flu going on in Europe. And here in the Netherlands they are not as quick with giving antibiotics for this viral infection, so we ended up having a sick household for a while. And on top of that I managed to fall from the stairs in my home so I could not walk at all for a few days and after that had to slowly recover to be able to walk around without looking like a little waggling duck. So yeah, our first two months were all about family first and getting our health better and making sure everybody got back on their feet again.
And now spring is coming and we beat the virus. We are all feeling a lot better and are ready to work on the other life resolutions as well.
Also for the creativity part I went to a craft show for business owners and I have looked into all the amazing craft stuff that is out there. I was especially thrilled about this little compact die-cutting machine from Crafters Companion:
I was able to try it out and sure it is not as durable as the big die cutting machines already out there, but for people with small spaces and those using only tiny dies and embossing folders for their planners, cards or project life projects it is perfect! They even have matching stamps with the dies. Really it is amazing!
I made this quick card to see how well it cuts glitter paper and thick cardstock and such. It all went through perfectly. So I was really excited to see that.
I also tried out the Windsor & Newton pigment markers. I have to be honest, I wasn’t that impressed. I fell more in love with another marker and those were the Zig Clean Color brushes. I already tried a set and liked them, but at the show I was able to learn more uses for them and now I just know I want all 80 colors (luckily it is my birthday soon so…;)). I also worked with the Wink of Stella glitters and people who know me know that I can not get enough glitter.
Then we also had time to make this little dreamcatcher. I know Lizzy will LOVE this one. It was so fun to make I am sure I will more of those in the future.
And off course, because of my love for yarn, I could not stay away from this fun Phildar booth.
I just had a great creative day and have so many fun ideas. I will definitely share them with you all through this blog.
So that is about it as far as an update goes. I hope everybody is doing great on their own life resolutions and let’s all just enjoy spring and Create!
